US2K Review: This is excellent sci fi techno ambient music. It reminds me of x files theme tune, but this is the first track by this artist that has left the sitting room audience to the club. My score is 8 out of 10 as the atmosphere is great. A full review follows shortly.

Title of This Mix: Winter Feelings By John Samely File Size = 177kb No extra EJay programmes needed to listen to this mix. Mix Duration = 3.5@130BPM Genre: Electronic Listening
Message sent with this Mix: Merry Xmas to all, I hope you get some warm feelings playing this one.

US2K Review: This is ambient listening electronica simpler to that you would have on Sky Satellite whilst choosing a channel to watch over the Christmas period. The track introduction is a synth bass which is shortly joined by a succession of synth lines and a full groove of bass drum and percussion including hi-hats. At the 20 second mark another happy "Christmas theme" synth line enters the mix and the mix is actually fairly catchy. At the 55 second mark a synth pad sample introduces a change. This is a bass drum and percussion solo, using a tambourine as an accent, interspersed with atmospheric but mysterious synth lines. At the 1 minute 16 second mark the drums drop for a short whilst, forming an arrangement of just the hi hats and synths. When the drum groove returns now with a snare pattern variation, and shortly after the "Christmas theme" synth line returns to the mix. The successive percussion and synth line variations build towards an excellent conclusion. The finale is very catchy, and the sudden end on the synths with no groove and sound effect works well. I score this mix with 7 out of 10 and I recommend that everyone has a listen as it is very good atmospheric Christmas television program music. It has a very cheery catchy feel towards the end.

Title of This Mix: Its new and try it By John Samely File Size = 214kb No extra EJay programmes needed to listen to this mix. Mix Duration = 3.07@120BPM Genre: Demo/Movie Music
Message sent with this Mix: Hello, have been trying a long time trying to make this mix whith dance 7, and I love it. hope you enjoy it.

US2K Review: Well if this is a first effort it is very good. I score it with 5.5 out of ten. My reasons are that there is an indication of an intelligent astructure and a lot of potential but I feel too many ideas cause this track to sound like a demo as you would get on a musical keyboard, or background music for a film. This is a common first mix trait. There is an excellent phase of music from the 56 sec to the 1:40 mark. This artist has a lot of potential once they realise they can repeat phases of music more if they build in instrumental accompaniments or drum layers over time. Of course this is only my personal opinion and I request my other visitors to listen and add their own comments.

Title of This Mix: Traster By DJ RimA File Size = 430kb No extra EJay programmes needed to listen to this mix. Mix Duration = 3:26@148BPM Genre: Drum and Bass
Message sent with this Mix:

US2K Review: The track begins with a mellow Mike Oldfield "Tubular bells" like melody. 3 seconds into the mix, a drum and bass drum pattern enters the mix, shortly followed by a melodic acid-like bass line. Twenty seconds into the mix there is the first drop of the drums, and a new rhythmic melody line, which matches the “tubular bells” like theme joins the mix before the return of the drums. The overall combination is very foot-tapping. After 54 seconds there is a drop of the bass line and a pad string introduces a break or lull in the drums. This break finally arrives at the 1-minute mark. 5 seconds later the drum pattern returns shortly joined by the rhythmic melody and other percussive layers but no bass The listener is led to believe the track is going to go back to main full theme but this is an intelligent illusion because instead at 1 minute 20 the drums drop again and pad is joined with a sweep for about 10 seconds, and then solos for 5 seconds creating a mood of anticipation. The drums re-enter initially with some echo to create further variation. The track then continues with the main drum patterns and themes from earlier with varying arrangements, including the re-introduction of the "tubular bells" like theme. At the 2 minute 44 second mark, respect to the artist dj Rima for using the ability to change drum pitch in the groove generator to simulate what is normally done with clever sample processing and fx units. This pitched typical drum and bass trick is done after a break on the pad. At 2:56 the track concludes on a crescendo of the bass the rhythmic melody and "Tubular bells" like theme, and a final a final solo of the drum break and a well chosen subset of the main theme instruments. My score of the original dance 7 mix (not the mp3) of Traster is 9 out of 10. The track would have got a 10 had the pitch trick on the drums appeared earlier in the mix. Unfortunately at one point the drum loop was too apparent which could have been prevented with pitch tricks. The mp3 demonstrates how a flange effect (often used by drum and bass artists on mastering) can disguise the loop and create the illusion of drum pattern variations too. Additionally it has been used to enhance the existing clever pitch trick in the dance 7 mix. My conclusion is that the track is well structured, and a generally excellent drum and bass track to listen to. I recommend anyone who enjoys mellow drum and bass have a listen.

Title of This Mix: Hand 2 By DJ RimA File Size = 748kb No extra EJay programmes needed to listen to this mix. Mix Duration = 2:51@148BPM Genre: Film Score Science Fiction Techno
Message sent with this Mix:

US2K Review: This track is a science fiction techno film score track. It begins on a bass solo for 20 seconds. The bass is followed by a reverb affected synthesiser lead. After 32 seconds the track begins to build with the return of the bass and a succession of synthesiser accompaniments playing an introduction theme. After 1 minute 15 seconds, a hi-hat and snare enters the mix. By the 1-minute 20 mark a full drum pattern including bass drum and clap and driving the mix and everything else has become catchy with a series of melodies answering each other, which could be called the main theme for this mix. At 1 min 37 the drums are dropped for a few seconds and a mellow pad synthesiser sound enters the mix for a short whilst. Everything comes back in with the main theme. At 2 minute 3 sec mark the drums and the bass solo for a short whilst before a variation of the introduction theme. The track resolves rhythmic bass note riff drum solo, finally ending on some reverb-affected percussion. I rate this track a 6 out of 10 because it is competent but lacks this artist’s usual musical standard. For example in my opinion the introduction includes sections that repeat too many times without a crash or percussion, also the main theme, which I see as the best part to this track, finishes too soon. Despite my criticism the track is still worth a listen to sci-fi music and film score fans.

Title of This Mix: Niche By Sadism File Size = 117kb No extra EJay programmes needed to listen to this mix. Mix Duration = 2.30@130BPM Genre: Moviescore Techno
Message sent with this Mix: How you doing pal?! I am back after months. I recently checked j-jay site on the web and i found out that one of my mixes is9th in rank, I want to thank you for your gruelling efforts;-)

US2K Review: The style of this track is modern movie score Techno, and it is very worth a listen, but be warned you will have to do this more than once to really appreciate it. The track introduction begins with a mellow but rhythmic melody, joined by a melody that seems to answer the first. By the 32 second mark there is a more complex lead melody, afterwards catchy main theme harmony plays on a percussive instrument. After the minute mark a drum pattern enters the mix to drive the arrangement. Just when things could have became too repetitive at the 1 minute 30 mark there is a break from the rhythm to give some relief. An effective drum roll is used to reintroduce the drums once again. An interesting point is the few unexpected drops of the drums with only the harmony instrument from the arrangement playing to intensely remind the listener of the original theme. When the drums enter again a succession of new melodies are introduced, each answering the previous forming a climax, with occasional further reliefs from the drums towards conclusion. Anyone with advanced music knowledge at this point will realise whole composition at this point was a cleverest Paechbael like cannon combined with a subtle verse chorus theme change pattern formed by varied recurring arrangement combinations. My rating is a little lower than expected, 7 out of 10. This is partly on personal taste of musical style, and the fact I would like to have heard a few more slaps or crashes when music changes take place in the earlier part of the track. This is because I am sure some changes are a little too subtle for some to even notice on their first listen. The track is very good, and I particularly like the use of stereo panning, For the mp3, I have applied a little room reverb, compression of the mid frequencies to’brighten’ them, and occasional stereo enhancements, where there were already intended left right speaker effects.

Title of This Mix: Touchy Feely By Pugwash File Size = 1583kb No extra EJay programmes needed to listen to this mix. Mix Duration = 7.17@130BPM Genre: Club Dance
Message sent with this Mix:

US2K Review: Introduction has skilful use of vocals that are joined with a synthesizer affectively, The main track enters at the1:02 mark bass and drums, and a synth which will later form a hook and vocaland well timed sound fx progress to the 1:50 mark well where a lovely hook isannounced, then a well timed break on clap, vocal percussion. At 2:35 the hookreturns with two synths answering each other, and the track is a very catchyclub hit for about 81 seconds. At 4:10 mark there is another musical themewhich seems to work well to announce that that it is near its conclusion. At6:12 mark the track returns to main which is alright, but I would have returned to it a little sooner with the hook, The ending on the vocal and sound fx works well. This track was tricky for me to score as the intro and hook anthem section and wanted to score it between 8 and 10 for, but in my opinion the mix seems to lose its way a little after 6:29 mark. It needed the hook again beforeit finished, I was desiring its return and it never happened, at about the 6minute 4 second mark was the right time. I would have only scored this 6 out of10 as a result but the otherwise highly skilled mastering, and intelligentarrangement variations, use of sound fx and crashes etc. rescue this track. MyScore out of 7 out of 10. Touchy Feely definitely worth listening to, and others may score higher.

Title of This Mix: Expressions By Max Motion File Size = 127kb No extra EJay programmes needed to listen to this mix. Mix Duration = 3@148BPM Genre: Filmscore Techno
Message sent with this Mix: Hi John m8 !! Had DE7 for a while now, but just been playin' around now and then on it. Noticed your site back up so I put this little ditty together. This is my first real tune on DE7, can't say I have any idea of genre on this, it's an upbeat tune at 148 bpm. Hope you enjoy it!!! Steve.

US2K Review: The introduction begins with an interesting hook which is joined after a few seconds by a drum pattern and the hook and variations formed melodies answering on the right and left stereo field. This them continues with a drum pattern for a minute or two, after which there is an intelligent drop of the groove a solo synth and a return to the main tune. This groove finally concludes with hook, the other leads, bass drum and hats, until finally finishing on claps after a reduction in instrument arrangement. My score is 6 for this mix Steve. My reason for this is that although there is a competent techno groove and variation the overall tune is a little repetitive and not really up to your standards I have seen previously in my opinion, but is still worth a listen.

Title of This Mix: Return Of PhenoAmin By Sadism File Size = 76.61kb No extra EJay programmes needed to listen to this mix. Mix Duration = 1.52@130BPM
Message sent with this Mix: This is a mix for the celeberation of my return to the world of ejay mixers! I am Aebabso! I am Amin!I am a phenomenon!.....I am the PhenoAmin!

US2K Review: I listened to this mix and agree you are a talented artist Aebabso. I was going to give you a 8 or 9 for this mix, Catchy dance tune, has a nice slow build with additional instruments and harmonies maintaining interest, and structure is very good. It has a nice break with a reverse hat but listening to it more made me feel that it finished too soon, and also needed a little fine tuning ( not in pitch in mix volumes and arrangement).

US2K Review: I am giving you an 8 for this mix, Very nice catchy laid back trance track. As for "Return of phenoAmin" a nice slow build with additional instruments and harmonies. It has a nice breaks and drum rolls. Mix levels and echo work on this track much better than your other mix. The echo is on mid-range sounds which are complimentary. I was disappointed again though by track ending when I was getting into it at 1 minute 20 seconds

Message sent with this Mix: Nothing but any of good feelings for you!

US2K Review: I am giving you an 9 for this mix on technical quality as I dont actually enjoy the tune that much as I like things a bit more foot-tapping, your other submissions had a more catchy melody, and this is laid back. There is a good arrangement with additional instruments and harmonies as things progress. It has a nice breaks and drum rolls. The length is suitable on this track. The "Fuller Siren" effect on such a laid back tune seems out of place although it would have worked better in the silent gaps

Title of This Mix: Remixo By Sadism File Size = 86.76kb No extra EJay programmes needed to listen to this mix. Mix Duration = 4.19@130BPM
Message sent with this Mix: The song Remixo is a remix of one of Dance Ejay 7 Demo songs

US2K Review: I can see which track you have remixed, "I Have to Go". Well done for getting rid of that corny sounding vocal and generally improving the track to the point of being a nice mellow piece of listening music. I like varied drum pattern and breaks. I like the bit where the drums drop and the lead solos for a few bars. My only real criticism is that at bar 37 when you bring in an extra instrument track 17, it is of my opinion that it comes in too loud, to bring it in 50 percent quieter a little quieter and rise on second repeat would be better. Overall this is a great improvement over some of your other mixes. However, I rate this mix as an 8.5 because another recent artist on the site has risen the standard for a 10 with his techno 4 contributions

Message sent with this Mix: Hello again J-Jay To your disappointment I announce that I am back.

US2K Review: Halt is a wicked piece of what I would class psycadelic movie score like techno. There is a good introduction and breaks where needed. You are varying instruments strategically in such a way that enhances on the theme. You have musical phrases answering each other even in different octaves, did you do some custom sound clips I wonder, lovely instrument solos. This is great. The structure builds great with cymbals used on breaks and to introduce changes or add excitement, and the main middle phrase is very exciting and catchy. The end variation on another instrument creates a nice conclusion. I cannot see any faults its rated at a 9 out of 10

Title of This Mix: Wedding Mourn By Malchance File Size = 87.4kb No extra EJay programmes needed to listen to this mix. Mix Duration = 3.54@84BPM
Message sent with this Mix: Hi NigelThis is a mix called Wedding in Mourn, I made it with DE7.Hope you enjoy it Gaetan

US2K Review: I have to score this with a 9 for pure imagination and atmosphere. It has a great eerie haunting melody and is musically very intelligent, having a good almost classical structure and varying arrangement. I know there are no crashes or drum rolls but a short bass sequence solo is used as a break between the parts and works very well. I know some of the visitors may not agree with me if they prefer dance style, but I respect real creativity as nearly all the music clips are custom note compositions, got to be as I doubt dance 7 would have those unusual in present day chord progressions. The church organ in the middle 8 is great it really reminds me of black and white silent horror films, its great. I recommend everyone have a listen, and or download the mix and or mp3.

Title of This Mix: Organism Tech By Malchance File Size = 87.4kb No extra EJay programmes needed to listen to this mix. Mix Duration = 3.2@130BPM
Message sent with this Mix: Organism Tech by Malchance

US2K Review: This is an ambient film score like mix.It has a good introduction and sophisticated build of accompaniment layers over 17 bars. The melody forms in at that point which is very interesting. A clap fill is used every other bar from bar 25 onwards to add variation. For 8 bars a repeated clap takes the lead. The next affective chang is the alternate soloing of groups of instruments from bars 58 to 89. Everything comes back in at bar 91 but with a bass drum that is beign used as an accent affect not for rhythm. At bar 100 and 104 there is well used drum fill as clue that there will be a change soon which is the 4 on the floor bass drum with roll on every other bar accompanied by hi hat until bar 122. Then until bar 155 the whole arrangement plays again. I really respect the orinality of this track as I did for Wedding Mourne but I can only score Organism Tech with a 7 because it is less interesting. Its ending needed a slow build back up again or another instrument possibly flute.

Title of This Mix: UFO By Noahh File Size = 87.4kb No extra EJay programmes needed to listen to this mix. Mix Duration = 3.27@128BPM
Message sent with this Mix: Hellow thereThis is my first mix with d7 and i don't like the software, think this a big step back after d6. Samples are not very useable, the generators and samples from d6 are better and more friendly to use. Closing the mixlab and changing the software are 2 major faults by ejay i think and there software is hard to find in belgium. Almost nothing you can find here About my mix Believe me i can do much better than this with other samples and generators to make own bassline, synths and kicks, but i have tried to make an lounge, light dance track and i think its not the badest tune ever, but not that great eighter. Greetings and respect for the creators of this site for holding ejay alive! Sorry for my english but i'm from belgium

US2K Review: There is a good introduction with the hi-hat coming in before the drums, with a drum roll to introduce the main accompaniment. The track progresses and builds well, with an interesting melody that fits the title UFO very well, as it has atmosphere with a hint of energy. There are few issues with it that would make me regard it as a demo track so I score it 7 out of 10

Message sent with this Mix: After electro punk it's back time for the real noahh sound. This time the song have a more darker and sad feeling than UFO.Greetings Andy

US2K Review: The track does have a dark start and end, and very happy middle 8. The drum and percussion layers build well and the use of drum rolls and crashes to introduce new sections is very skilful. The breaks where the lead solos work well to keep the track interesting. This lead varies in volume but is let down by the fact it is not moved round the stereo field to whiz round the head, this can be achieved by having each channel panned slightly more left or right. Also drums could have varied and instruments dropping unexpectedly at times would have added interest to the mix. I give this track 6 out of 10

Message sent with this Mix: Hey i'm back are you happy?! well we gotta celebrate my return with this mix! j-jay are ya fine?

US2K Review: This track has a very skilled structure. The introduction and build from happy to menacing works well. The actual melody and harmony remind me of computer game or movie theme tune to back up something visual, or possibly listening ambient. The instruments seem to be working better together than for your last track. You have used some interesting breaks, variations and drops, with the cymbals introducing changes affectively. I will add the break at 2 min 22 should come sooner as things became a little too repetitive and less interesting at the 2 min mark, although you could have varied arrangement of instruments or the rhythm a little sooner. I score this mix with 7 out of 10 with the assumption it is not intended to be dance music. I recommend everyone have a listen as this mix does demonstrate great musical skill, and it`s interesting to hear

My re-master mp3 is a rough demonstration of how you could have improved it to widen the audience. I have mostly used equalisers, reverbs and compression and Dance 7 has all of these, although those are not the ones i used, and I did use the wah, an additional effect that ejay does not provide.

Title of This Mix: Summer, High Energy Remix By Noahh File Size = 111kb No extra EJay programmes needed to listen to this mix. Mix Duration = 2.51@130BPM
Message sent with this Mix: It's a rmx dj viper t hi energy.

US2K Review: Noah has really done well in improving the already good High Energy. The new lead chosen for the hook is very affective, and the percussive tom drums and later hi hat really drives the mix well. DuNord one of the original accompaniment enters after 23 seconds is nicely faded in. The middle 8 lead solo, and is very affective and leads to a nice gradual re-introduction of the main arrangement with a very danceable result. The Du Nord is nicely faded out, and there is a final conclusion which works well. My score 8 out of 10, the use of fills and crashes is skilful, track is catchy, there is adequate variation, and general production is improving. To score 10 I would recommend extra snares or sound fx towards the end of the track when Du Nord is leading, to make a finale. Possibly Du Nord could have been dropped and faded back in. For my re-master I have used equalisation, frequency band and track compression, room reverbs of differing settings and a resonant filter.

The fx intelligently used, possibly a little less reverb, echo on the snare at times, are you varying the echo as when rest of mix is playing and the snares need more definition I would ease up on reverb occasionally. There is a well timed drop of the drum at the minute mark, vocal solo followed by a skillful fade in of the melody, and the organ joins in well at 1 min 30, to create a catchy hook. At 2.05 there is another nice interval with an appropriate conclusion. There is intelligent rolls crashes etc and now fx too. My score is 7.5 out of 10. A higher would have been awarded if during 1:35 to 2:05 the vocal hade been repeated at least one more time to break up the repeating melody. Also your conclusion is alright but would have been better as a middle 8 instead, and the earlier hook return with another instrument or percussion towards the end.

Title of This Mix: The Shadow Warrior By Dj Viper T File Size = 75kb No extra EJay programmes needed to listen to this mix. Mix Duration = 4.11@130BPM
Message sent with this Mix: This is the longest ive ever experimented with dj7..........and thank you NOAH for that excellent remix of my song Hi Energy.........Loved it

US2K Review: The Shadow Warrior has a suitable progressive, mellow lead as an introduction which gradually joined by other instruments and a bass line. The drums enter, followed by the hi-hat as expected. There is a catchy hook after 2 minutes and some imaginative variations on the way. There is a reasonably timed middle 8 at the 2min44 mark and a really good conclusion with horns announcing the hook from earlier. My score 7 out of 10 because its good there was more to do to polish it. I would like to have a heard a little more percussion in places and there was also a guitar riff lead used at some point which was reduced in effectiveness by the fact you did not reduce the strength or drop any of the other instruments when it first enters. Also all the instruments are in the canter of the stereo field when some would sound better panned left and right to give mix space, and let the listener know what is the lead. Also I would liked to hear fills, crashes or fx for major changes.

Title of This Mix: Lithium Raid Remix By Noahh File Size = 97kb No extra EJay programmes needed to listen to this mix. Mix Duration = 3.25@139BPM
Message sent with this Mix: Hi Nigel, last week(s) i give you lots of work with reviews of my tracks. I hope you don't mind? I want to say big thx for everything you do about ejay! Uploaded 28 Feb 2008

US2K Review: The introduction using the original sound effect and steadily building drum layers makes the listener want to dance immediately. The fade in of the melody hook is done very well, and the interval and drop of the drums at the 56 second mark creates anticipation for the rest of the track. The further variations of drum layers, melodies and harmonies and the false ending at 2 min 4 sec, created by dropping of all instruments is intelligent. The following melody solo twist and the new build towards the conclusion are great. Noah has really transformed the original, respect. Great to hear he is getting at ease with the effects now. The general use of arrangement, crashes rolls and other sound effects is spot on now. My score is 8 out of 10. To get higher I would have liked some strings at the 2 min 8 sec mark. The only thing I did on re-mastering was applied a compressor, as the rest seemed to be as intended.

Title of This Mix: Rise of The Turtles By Tryptonite File Size = 81kb No extra EJay programmes needed to listen to this mix. Mix Duration = 4.5@130BPM
Message sent with this Mix: One of my first mixes in D7 and mostly straight out of the box, with very little modification. It's certainly not meant to be dancable, and any critique is welcome. If anyone remixes, please tell me where to find it (if not here). I also have a part 2 for this tune (finished?) If interested.. holler. Rick B. AKA: Tryptonite

US2K Review: There is a 16 bar introduction that sounds suitably mysterious, like the x files soundtrack. The main theme begins at bar 16, followed by some very imaginative variations, mysterious x file like sounds answering the melody. Bars 74 to 84 sound like sitting by a river with turtles and dripping water, pity no echo on the percussion. For bars 85 to 92 the middle 8 not all instruments needed to enter at once, in stages things would be more interest when you repeat the phrase again for bars that theme for bars 94 to 101. Afterwards good music structure is demonstrated with a return to the main theme with little decorative variations. Everything continues until bars 138 to 141 which I feel let the track down, the pause of silence is too long. Afterwards the conclusion works better again with a version of the main theme that fades to the end. My score is 6 out of 10, well worth a listen, and a good first mix, my remix to you will show what could have been better.

Title of This Mix: Organization of the Unorganized meeting notes By Tryptonite File Size = 71kb No extra EJay programmes needed to listen to this mix. Mix Duration = 4.23@130BPM
Message sent with this Mix: Another early mix, using the standard sample set and a few teaks. Hope you enjoy!

US2K Review: It has an interesting introduction that does sound like reams of paper being processed. After 46 seconds there is a repeated rhythmic 1:06 melody with drums until 1:41 mark, I would consider this to be the hook you chose. This seems to repeat too long though. For the 1:41 to 2:12 mark there is a suitable attempt at middle 8 bridge leading to a second theme on several instruments. From 2:43 your hook returns this time joined by other instruments from the 3:19 mark onwards. The 3:27 to 3:56 part of the track is a very catchy and would have been an excellent hook. The track is concluded with the second theme. My score as piece of music to listen or dance to is 5 out of 10, but 6.5 of 10 for backing to a computer game, animation, or a keyboard demo track. Although there is variation there is very few instruments playing most of the time so lack of a full sound.

Title of This Mix: Cyberlink1 By Bassmom File Size = 999kb No extra EJay programmes needed to listen to this mix. Mix Duration = 5@140BPM
Message sent with this Mix: On behalf of Bassmom I have uploaded a shorted version of a track she made with Dance 7. I would rarely allow an mp3 without a mix file on this site but because I personally know her as a friend and that it is her work I permitted it. this is a shortened version that I have faded out. She has the full length version on www.soundclick.com along with some great drum and bass.

US2K Review: There is an excellent ambient mellow introduction building to an exciting beat. This is followed by an acid inspired bass line and lead, building to yet another acid sound as the lead at 1:46. The special effects and general sonics and the wide stereo field and sense of depth to the layers of track are also great and very atmospheric. The drums come in later but I wont spoil things for those who wish to hear the full version and possibly buy it from bassmom. I have heard the full length version on soundclick where bassmom also has some great drum and bass, and my score is 9 out of 10.

Title of This Mix: Shark Repent By Shark3 File Size = 78kb No extra EJay programmes needed to listen to this mix. Mix Duration = 3.23@140BPM
Message sent with this Mix: My first mix

US2K Review: The introduction with the bassline, drums, hat and clap is very good. There is a bass solo and drum fill leading to the main rhythm and bass running being joined by the lead instrument. You have and hi hat drop which makes a suitable break. For bars 39 to 58 the build up of instruments works well. The instrument solo later building back up to the main hook at 87 to102, and the conclusion 103 to 107 is appropiate. The structure of this track is generally good. The main musical theme fits the title well.. 6 out of 10 , a very good first mix

Title of This Mix: The Beginning By DJ RimA File Size = 79kb No extra EJay programmes needed to listen to this mix. Mix Duration = 4.29@130BPM

US2K Review: This is early house music. The track begins with drums, then bass, joined by catchy traditional house organs and synth leads. The mix progresses well, and by the 43 sec mark, we have a well established groove and hook, emphasised at the 58 second mark when the drums drop and the lead solos. Later the structure is very impressive with different synth leads taking it in turns and drops and variations of the drum pattern. Things generally flow well, building up and down with nice wave the arms solos, and by the 3.33 mark I was well into it. I recommend a listen by everybody as its a very good house track. My score is 7 out 10, as a few fx or crashes to put emphasis on changes would have livened it up a bit, for a wider audience. Also something about the introduction is less good then the rest of the track, perhaps the lead instrument would have sounded better faded in, as things seem jerky. I have produced an export wave and studio mastered the mix applying a few fades and fx

Title of This Mix: uzi By DJ RimA File Size = 81kb No extra EJay programmes needed to listen to this mix. Mix Duration = 4@130BPM

US2K Review: The introduction is immediately suitable for the genre. Layers of percussion and drums build slowly. A nice touch is the extra shakers alternating left and right of the stereo field. The lead, although repeated for 56 bars, drives the track and is varied by being played on different synth sounds. A fitting bass enters at the 57 bar (1 m 43s) mark. Afterwards things get progressively exciting. The new bass at Bar 73 introduces the next bass line playing a melody. At bars 94 to 97 there is a well timed synth solo. The main groove returns, at this point the mix sounded trance influenced. The instruments drive the rhythm towards the end of the track which is the synth from the solo part.Score 7.5 of 10. Well structured Vangelis inspired sci fi techno but could have been varied more. The unusual drum pattern loses impact due to over use. A few fx and crashes would have added atmosphere. For mp3 mastering I have a little reverb, eq and compression. Also I faded it in, to add to the feel.

Title of This Mix: Soft electro By DJ RimA File Size = 78kb No extra EJay programmes needed to listen to this mix. Mix Duration = 4@130BPM

US2K Review: The 19 bar Introduction is great consisting of a lead synth with interesting variations of rhythm and percussion layers. The bass joins the mixfor 8 bars announcing another musical theme the main theme of the track. Layers build at bar 48 some drop but are replaced with a break beat pattern for 8 bars at 1 minute 26. Later there is a 16 bar middle section which varies the track well, then a variation of the main theme joined by a dreamy higher octave lead synth, bass line and the break beat. The conclusion forms from reduction in layers.Score 8 of 10. A complement, I dislike modern electro, but your variations and elements of drum and bass or break made me enjoy listening to this track. Suggestions for improvement are panning of instruments, a few fx, although this track sounds good anyway. One criticism is I wanted to dance to this but the break beat never lasted long enough. In mp3 master I have used Magix Audio studio 2005 to add a little eq,reverb and frequency band compression.

Title of This Mix: Lawyer By DJ RimA File Size = 78kb No extra EJay programmes needed to listen to this mix. Mix Duration = 4.14@130BPM

US2K Review: Intelligent alternation of lead lines and percussion form the introduction. The main theme is introduced by a rising resonant filter riff at bar 35 1 m 4 sec into the track. Layers build from bar 45 and 51 and the existing lead is harmonised with a second lead. Clever filter affects create a feeling two melodies answering each other. For bars 64 to 73 uses reduction of percussion layers to create a followed by an exciting re-introduction of them. Later despite further rhythmic elements in the mix and a competent structure and conclusion things seem to get less interesting for me. My score is 6 of 10. Improvements would be at bar 73 a different melody, the same one at a different octave, or the pattern introduced at bar 110 soloed earlier to create an intense feel for a few bars. Then the main theme would be interesting again on return, the later clever percussive variations are not enough. This is competent electro worth a listen. I have remastered with reverb and filters.
