Dance Ejay 5 Mixes.

The mixes on this page are used with the Dance EJay 5 programme. If any of the mixes contain any samples from the other EJay programmes then you will not be able to hear the full mix unless you have these programmes as well... The mixes are all zipped, because they are faster for you to download. If a mix has any "imported" or "tweeked" samples, they are normally saved into the mix, but it makes the file size much larger. Any message or text that you want to send with your mix will be added as well, unless stated otherwise.

US2K Review: (Original J-Jay review) Another synth based tune from DJ DD... More rythm and flow to this one, and the tones in the samples used are better as well... The tune does get to sound a bit samey as it progresses, and maybe needed to break in and out of the main theme, if only to bust it up a bit, but this is quite a deep, trancey mix, laden again with those menacing undertones... The idea and theory is again good here, and apart from the lack of variation, there is the basis of a real good tune lying in some of the sequences, especially in the finale... Once it gets past half-way, it improves on the grab factor, and worth a few listens...

US2K Review: (Original J-Jay Review) Another eight minute mix with the "dagui" drop-beat sample, but it works much better in this tune...!!! This is a far better quality tune from start to ending, and the whole thing runs through effortlessly and smothly from start to finish... Starts off a bit dark ravey, goes a bit trancey / dancey sort off (lol) then finishes off with even a good running vocal sequence. What the difference is, is that a tune like this, has the old "grab" factor about it, meaning you like what you hear, but you also want to hear what's coming next, because the tune has a hold on you and it's dragging you along with it...!!! Might not appeal to everyone, but it's novel and creative, and I for one liked it...

US2K Review: (Original J-Jay Review) The tune has a very light, synthy intro, which maybe is a bit overdone, at nearly a minute before the change in style, which is brought about by the addition of variations in tone, plus the beefy vocals... The vocal of the title is awful, but the chants type vocals are good, but then I'm a Gregorian fan anyway...!!! Seems a bit long winded and repetitive by Angelo's usual standards, but the the fades and changes across the sequences are fairly well worked across... I think it's an uplifting tune, rather than dark and menacing...

US2K Review: (Original J-Jay Review) Good intro to this tune, which leads in quickly, and carries on with some mixed vocals, and a bass synth sequence... The little piano burst in the middle, I didn't think fitted into this tune very well, but I can see the intention for the break, which is meant to tie in with the ending sequence... The vocals volume could have maybe been tweeked up a notch to punch out a bit more... The tune itself is not actually too bad a listen, and it's a good idea in theory, but it just doesn't quite hit the mark...

US2K Review: (Original J-Jay Review) Good little trancey mix, built around some synthy samples, with some laid back vocals... The vocals of the title have been overdone a bit, because they are really repetetive, and along with the others, they seem to be tucked away into the background, when they should be more up front... The beat of the tune interacts with the synths really well, and after the mellow start, this tune belts along with some pace... Good tune, and worth a few blasts...

(US2K Says) That seems an age now, I was not much more than 26 when I submitted that mix to John.

US2K Review: (Original J-Jay Review) Something does not quite work, or sound right, in this one...??? The piano notes are definitely off-key towards the rest of the tune, and the whole thing generally sounds a bit washy... The snare build ups on the breaks are too varied to be consistent, and the continuity of the tune goes all over the place... Once again though, the vocals shine through what is not too bad a backbeat, and, sorry to say Yuvy, I did not tap my foot to this one, not once...???

It's my very first program I bought, and I like it due to all the bugs that are inside it. I can't use the FX studio. But I managed to arrange a small song, and with only the basic samples. I hope that others will like this small mix too.

US2K Review: (Original J-Jay Review) DJ DD's first mix to the site is a very heavy, moody, and dramatic tune... Heavily laden with synth's, interspersed by a clappy backbeat, which alternate between the two speakers... It's like a soundtrack to a film, rather than a dance mix, but it conveys a good atmosphere nonetheless... Won't be to everyone's taste, this type of mix, but I don't mind imaginative mixes... The title is very apt, and says quite a bit in itself... Creativity wise, it's ingenious... A good first entry to the site...

(US2K Says) This needed a break in the middle or a significant change for the conclusion in my opinion.

US2K Review: (Original JJ Review) I think this mix is a bit plain at the beginning, but it grows on you the more you play, especially towards the ending.

Yet again long time no see :~ Love what you did with the site! The layout is crisp, and crystal clear - a big improvement over the previous one. I seem to be having DE5 phases, I keep picking it up for 2-3 days, and then dropping it for months, but anyway this is another phase, so maybe you'll be seeing more mixes from me soon :) Here's my latest which I made yesterday. As usual, I don't have the patience to stick with one tune for more than a day or two, but I still like this one, and think it flows pretty well. It's a long one - Just over the 6 minute mark (not typical as it's quite dancy) It starts off implying it's a vocal tune, but actually after the first 2-3 vocals thrown in I just didn't find them necessary nor suitable anywhere in the tune so I didn't use anymore. Maybe I'll make a vocal mix sometime :) Hope you like it, and keep in touch, YuvY / JuvY / Yuval.

US2K Review: (Original JJ Review) A really good mix with well chosen samples. A good bouncy intro section leads into a good sequence of vocals, and you're into the makings of a really good mix. Nothing much original or experimental, but nothing jarrs, and everything is laid down smoothly. The middle section is where this mix gets lost, the middle three minutes amble through several variations, before returning to the start theme for the end section. I feel this mix would have been much better at around the four minute mark. A little more layering and mixing could have added the required depth and variation. Overall though a real good effort. I liked this a lot more than "Cry4Love". I look forward to seeing some more from YuvY.

US2K Review: (Original JJ Review) This starts out quite promising, with a good, thumping, drum and bass line, but after 30 seconds you've more or less heard all the track. It's quite good, but needs mixing, layering, and enriching, to bring it out.
US2K Says at the time when this mix produced there was a lot of music under the category hardcore that was equally rough and ready, and that was selling.
